You have a problem

Postby bluefire427 » Tue Mar 04, 2008 8:09 pm

Your problem is that you have a problem.

You have a problem with your problem, and that is your problem.

How could you solve this problem?

I first found this conundrum when one of my classmates said this. My argument with this guy has lasted for weeks involving just this.

Ask others how to do it for you...?

You could replace thatwith a noun to form a complete thought.

No, the point here is that humans, being humans, are fundamentally flawed.
So if you were to solve this problem, you would have a new one. Possibly even worse, you don't have a problem. So this throws humanity out of the picture. Or does it?

That's interesting. Would we be humans without a problem? I don't think so. If there was no problem there would be no progress. We may think that idea is wrong because of personal opinions about happiness but, evolution would have never taken place without problems and life's goals to overcome these problems, and there would be no religion if there were no problems. Could light exist without darkness, metaphorically speaking?

WOW!!

Seriously i have never thought of life in this way, without problems there is nothing to solve, and having nothing to solve there is no purpose in life...

Metephorically no it is not possible to have light without dark :D another very good metaphore.

But in the other hand maybe the purpose of life is to solve all problems, when we finaly acheive our lifes goal there will be no problems and we may live in harmony

Maybe not lol just a though

"There are no problems, only challenges yet to be overcome" or so I have been told. Whether it is actually possible to overcome them or not seems irrelevant.
